Gaza Emergency Orphan Medical
THEY HAVE ALREADY LOST ENOUGH
A child who has lost a parent should not have to face illness or injury without access to the care that could make them well again. Yet across Gaza, children are living with wounds that need treatment, health conditions that require ongoing medication and complex cases that need specialist intervention. Hospitals and medical teams are trying to meet enormous needs with damaged infrastructure, stretched resources and shortages of essential medical supplies. For an orphaned child, those barriers can be even harder to overcome. There may be no parent left to pay for treatment, find medication or navigate an already overwhelmed health system, which is why reaching these children with the right care matters so much. Giving Hands is helping fund medical treatment, provide essential medication and medical supplies, support hospitals and respond to special medical cases where children need more complex care. We work with our teams and medical partners on the ground to identify vulnerable children and help get them the treatment they need. OUR CARE FOR GAZA GOES BEYOND THE EMERGENCY
Giving Hands has worked inside Gaza for 15 years, which means our medical response is built on relationships with communities, hospitals and local teams that existed long before the current crisis. Our founder was born and raised in Gaza, and that connection has shaped a response focused not only on getting emergency aid through, but on supporting the people and services families depend on when they are sick. Throughout our work in Gaza, we have distributed essential medical aid, supported hospital and healthcare infrastructure and helped fund treatment for special medical cases, including children and vulnerable patients whose needs could not be met without additional support. During the current crisis, our teams have continued working with medical providers and families to identify urgent cases and direct assistance where it can make a meaningful difference. Sometimes that means medicine or medical supplies reaching a hospital. Sometimes it means helping a health facility continue caring for its patients, and sometimes it means standing behind one child whose condition requires treatment their family simply cannot provide. For an orphan, that care carries another meaning too.
