NEPAL FLOODS EMERGENCY

389 PEOPLE HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES.
910 ARE STILL MISSING.
10,000 HOUSEHOLDS NEED URGENT HELP.

Within minutes, water, mud and debris tore through communities across Nepal. People ran for their lives as homes disappeared, roads were ripped apart and families were separated in the chaos. When the water moved on, it left people standing in mud and debris where their lives used to be.

More than 35 bridges have been destroyed and around 40 kilometres of road damaged, cutting off communities at the very moment they desperately need help.

But behind every number is somebody\'s mother, child, brother or sister. Someone who was there one moment and gone the next. And for 910 families still waiting for news, the nightmare isn\'t over.

The Prophet ﷺ taught us:

“Whoever relieves a believer of a hardship of this world, Allah will relieve him of a hardship on the Day of Resurrection.”
Sahih Muslim

SURVIVING THE FLOOD WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING

For some families, there is still no news. More than 900 people remain missing, leaving parents searching for children, children waiting for parents and families caught between hope and the fear of what they may hear next.

For those who survived, there is another reality to face. Imagine escaping with your life, only to turn around and realise there is nothing to go back to. Your home, clothes, food, bedding and the everyday things you use to care for your family can disappear in minutes.

Now people who had everything they needed for an ordinary day are trying to work out where they will sleep, what they will eat and how they will care for their children.

May Allah SWT have mercy on those who have passed, return the missing safely and grant strength and sabr to every family affected. Ameen.

They survived the flood. Help them through what comes next.

GIVING HANDS IS MOBILISING FOR NEPAL

While families search for loved ones and try to piece together what remains, Giving Hands is mobilising an emergency response to support those hit hardest by the floods.

Our focus is simple: get urgent help into the hands of families who need it. Our team is working to understand what people are without, where the greatest gaps are and how we can reach them with the essentials that matter most.

The exact support will be shaped by what we find on the ground, because in an emergency this fast moving, we want your donation to meet a real need, for a real family, at the moment they need it.

You may never meet the family your Sadaqah reaches or see the moment something they desperately need is placed into their hands.

But Allah SWT knows your intention, what you gave and exactly who benefited from it.

This is an opportunity to turn compassion into something that reaches another human being in one of the hardest moments of their life.

Give for the sake of Allah SWT. Give for Nepal.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHY DOES NEPAL NEED HELP NOW?

Families have been left without homes, belongings and everyday essentials, while destroyed roads and bridges are making some communities harder to reach. Search and rescue efforts are still continuing, but for thousands of households, the need for humanitarian support has already begun.

WHAT WILL MY DONATION HELP WITH?

Your donation will help Giving Hands respond to the urgent needs of families affected by the floods. Our team is working to establish what is needed most, so we are keeping the response flexible rather than promising specific items before those needs have been confirmed.

CAN I GIVE SADAQAH & ZAKAT TO THIS APPEAL?

Yes. You can give Sadaqah & Zakat towards the Nepal Floods Emergency and help provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by the disaster.

WHY IS GIVING HANDS NOT LISTING SPECIFIC AID ITEMS?

When families have lost so much, we believe the response should begin with understanding what they actually need. As those needs are established, your donations can be put towards the support that matters most.
